About Laural

Welcome, friend! I’m Laural.

I’m a fun-loving, East-Coaster turned Alaskan with a deep heart for connection. Building relationships and coaching “light me up” and I am continually fascinated by the simplicity and complexity of being human.

I have done the personal work of healing soul wounds and shifting generational patterns so I can live purposefully, from a place of deep emotional and spiritual alignment. Whew. It feels good to be able to say that after so many years living on autopilot.

I now support others who are discovering their authentic selves and the lives that call them.

I consider this work sacred and carry a deep understanding of the value, uniqueness, and significance of each individual. I also appreciate the challenges we face as we endeavor to move our lives forward, whether these challenges be internal, external, or both.

More about me professionally…

Prior to becoming a certified life coach, I spent 25 years working as a consultant, teacher, and group facilitator. I hold a Bachelor’s, a Master’s and a Doctorate degree in Education/Special Education with specializations in Early Childhood Studies, Human Lifespan Development, and Educational Psychology.

In my thirties, I completed additional Master’s level coursework in Trauma Recovery, Group Counseling, Play Therapy, and Career and Lifestyle Development. In recent years, I’ve trained in Nervous System Regulation, Attachment, Embodiment, and Somatic Parts Work.

For me, coaching has proven to be the cumulation of my life’s work and something to which I feel deeply called. It has allowed me to incorporate my expertise and passion for soul healing with the forward-focus motion of coaching. In all of this, I use a heart-centered, intuitive approach.

More about me personally…

I’m a joyous Christ-follower…my faith in Christ is central to all I do. I believe it brings Him glory to see each person walking in the fullness of who they are.

I deal with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and have for the last 20 years. I’ve experienced many losses due to CFS but don’t let the losses or limitations define me. It ended my lifelong education career but aided me in exploring the deepest parts of my heart, living from my worth, and discovering my passion for coaching.

I love growing things! Total plant freak over here…think gardening, succulents, houseplants, hanging baskets and you’ll have the right idea. This past year, I started rewarding myself with a new plant every time I did something really courageous. It’s been so fun!

Other random tidbits: I love word and strategy games, play a fierce game of ping-pong, love smoked salmon sushi, have oversized canvas prints of ferns and flowers throughout my house (as if my live plants aren’t enough!), and enjoy wearing patterned pants and bell bottom jeans because they make me happy.
